Divin Mubama
You have definitely got to feel sorry for the lad. He had a great pre season, looked like he had finally broken through and was going to be a solid option for Moyes and the potential to save the club millions on buying a striker. Moyes said he wanted him to stay and I have it on good authority that he was wanted by Gillingham on a season long loan as they were on the look out for a young striker who was able to be a big part of their team. Neil Harris at the time saw him as a good option and was more than happy to give him first team football. Divin wanted the move but Moyes vetoed it.
Now he sits there on the bench not getting a sniff at any football, another one Moyes has wasted and no doubt he will get a chance in an upcoming game, probably not take his chance due to match fitness and then Moyes will look vindicated in not picking him, not picking up on the fact that he would need a few games to get up to speed, but once he does inhave no doubt that he is the natural replacement for Antonio and should be coming off the bench when we are chasing the game rather than Danny fucking Ings.

Re: Divin Mubama
Your first point is correct, rewind to the summer and everyone thought he was breaking through this season as he wasn't being loaned out and he seemed good enough to step up, although if we are being totally honest we cannot be sure of that as it is a huge step up, even if the goals are the same size. What is clear though is that Moyes looks at birth certificates before deciding if someone likes Mumaba plays or not, and that is fucking horseshit. Would Ferguson be doing what he is at Brighton if Moyes was manager there? No, of course he wouldn't. Many other examples too.

As you say he's going backwards now, for the reasons outlined. I don't think he has hardly played at any level this season due to him being in the first team squad most weeks getting woodworm. Have to feel a bit for the lad.

Re: Divin Mubama
He has hardly played at any level your right Manuel, last season he was playing in the youths and doing well, now he has to sit on the bench not getting a look in.
As I said Moyes didn't want to let him go after pre season and Divin looked for reassurances before the club turned down the approach from Gillingham. He got those, apparently it was suggested to him that he would be used in cup games, Europe and games that Antonio would be pencilled in for dependant on his travel back from Jamaica games.
None of that has happened and he sits there seeing out his contract. The Ferguson point is bang on, and the likes of Rashford wouldn't have made it under Moyes at Man utd. Van Gaal gave him his break.
Its strange behaviour from the manager who 'found' Rooney.

Marshall hit another double against Liverpool yesterday, higher hopes for him.

This lad should be getting chances, ridiculous that he's not getting game time.

Re: Divin Mubama
Moyes is a nasty piece of work. Him stopping a loan move and then lying about him getting game time is no surprise. Hope the lad goes on to better things

Re: Divin Mubama
Browno, I'm putting out information from someone that is well connected to the lower leagues and would be involved in the dealings at Gillingham, so not entirely gospel truth but Moyes does have a track record of this especially here. Ashby also wanted assurances that he would play here, he didn't get those, he wanted to stay with the club there is no doubt about it but Newcastle came in and offered him a very good wage, but if Moyes had said he will play, he would have signed a new 5 year deal.
Callum Marshall is another the youth coaches think the club should bring through but there is a quite a divide at the club at the moment because players see no real path to the first team.

Re: Divin Mubama
Splinters in his arse on the bench again while the pointless Ings comes on. When he gets 5 mins somewhere people will wonder why he looks rusty as he isnt playing at ANY level

I see Callum Marshall after his hat-trick v Boro scored twice yesterday for the u21's in a 4-0 win away at Liverpool.
Both should be ahead of Ings

No transfer fees, "commissions" and other associated sundry payments associated with a player coming through the academy.

Just an observation, like...

Re: Divin Mubama
We need to start making our voices heard When Moyes brings on Ings it’s like we play with 10 men .
At the same time Divin needs to make himself available get out there from the 20th minute and start warming up down the touchline. Make a statement that tells Moyes I’m keen and want to be on that pitch.

Re: Divin Mubama
The problem is that when we did give Mubama a start he was pretty useless against one of the Europa teams. He is most effective coming on for 10 - 15 minutes to gain some confidence though.

“ On 3 November 2022, Mubama made his debut for West Ham in a UEFA Europa Conference League tie against Romanian club FCSB.[5] West Ham won the game 3–0 with Mubama’s header diverted into his own goal by FCSB’s Joyskim Dawa for West Ham’s second goal.[6][7]”

This kind of pretty useless?

Re: Divin Mubama
Or this:

There was then another landmark moment as local boy Mubama, who has been at the club since the age of eight, scored his first senior goal after flicking in from Tomas Soucek's header at a corner.

I make it two goals in two European games.

It’s funny what you miss living abroad but talking to those who do live over here and those that go what to put up with…..it is more commonly known as being a gormless cunt….

Re: Divin Mubama
Before this descends in farce, the point is he’s had 1 (?) start in Europe.
We won the game convincingly and he was directly involved in one of the goals.

What more do you want from the kid?
Hardly a basis to label him useless.

Re: Divin Mubama
I reckon Moyes reads too much Bible and has a Samson theory of Danny Ings.

Once Danny's hair reaches his waist without him regaining his football prowess, Moyes will give up on him, and Mubama will finally get off the bench

Re: Divin Mubama
How can a club that invests in a football academy persist with a first-team manager like Moyes? His record with strikers and new talent is appalling - I just don't get it.

Anything to do with football being right at the top of the list.

Re: Divin Mubama
I just hope that it's announced Moyes has gone before he (Mubama) decides his future lies elsewhere. He could be the one that really kicks on in the game. The likes of Ekwah aren't doing too bad and would surely better a better option coming off the bench or starting in the cups and in Europe rather than flogging Fornals who again has been destroyed by Moyes, playing him out on the fucking left wing.

The one goal Mubama scored was from a sun appearance and I recall it was a tap in but I was delighted for him.

I looked forward to seeing him start in a game and I watched for his performance. He didn’t score by the way. But even if he did that doesn’t mean his overall game wasn’t disappointing because I’m sure it was but only going from memory.

Moyes has not played him since and I can’t help but feel Moyes has lost faith in him. Maybe there’s more to it and the contract demands suggest that too. Of course I’m open to the idea that Moyes is a know nothing cunt but it is possible Mubama has lost his way.

If he showed as much promise in training since that game surely Moyes would have played him rather than Ings?
